The new Dearness Allowance Hike is effective from January 1, 2024. Through which a total of 14 lakh workers and pensioners will get benefits.
They have been fighting for their due salary for three years. And there DA has increased by 10% so far. It may be mentioned that the Central Government gives Dearness Allowance to its employees twice a year. One is at the beginning of the year in January and the other is in the middle of the year in July. As of 2023, it was 42%t after initially increasing the Centre’s DA by four per cent in January. Then in the month of October the Dearness Allowance is again increased in the month of July.
DA has been increased by four percent again. At present the center workers get a total of 46 percent DA. The Center’s Dearness Allowance Hike may increase again by five percent in January 2024. Meanwhile, every time the state government workers have questioned the Chief Minister about increasing DA at the central rate, he has said that it is never possible to give DA at that rate in the state.

State opposition leader Subhendu Adhikari spoke about this matter. He said, “If the BJP comes to power in Bengal in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, the proposal to give 46 percent Dearness Allowance to the state government employees will be passed in the first meeting of the cabinet.” And if that proposal is implemented after a few days, everyone will get it from next month.
